Will I Make It? Dream Big Nolan

Wow! It was a long walk to the office door at school this morning.
Nolan had applied for the safety patrol team and the
names were being posted on the office window.
He woke up early and was excited to see the list but
nervous about what he would do if he wasn't chosen!
Look at his precious face, can you see the uncertainty?

He still could not find his name so his friend Connor pointed it out for him!
Do you notice his expression now?

Congratulations Nolan,
I don't know what you were worried about to begin with!
You will be an awesome patrol I'm sure.

We are proud of you!

Life's Lessons - Gone To Soon

This is Snicker's last July

Unfortunately, today was a hard day for Nolan. Kenny, Elaine, Ryan, Nolan, Trey, Brylee, Haley, and I were all out in the pool just having a beautiful day enjoying our sunshine that we haven't had all week. Our dog Reese was hanging out with us on the back porch. Our bunnies, Snickers and Milky Way were playing in the bunny pen next to the pool. All of a sudden, Snickers ( Nolan's bunny), had a heart attack and died right before our eyes. He was only 2 years old. Nolan has had a terrible time ever since Snicker's passing today. He saw how quickly life can end. It has really opened up his eyes to a whole lot of questions about life and death. We are trying to use this as a teaching moment in his life. We are planning to make a memorial for Snickers. This memorial day will always belong to Nolan and his bunny, Snicker's.
This was Nolan and Snickers on Easter of this year.

Let the Good Times Continue...Haley's Birthday Dinner

Haley's birthday dinner was at Nana and Papa' Akridge's house. She wanted to cook out Hamburgers and Hot Dogs. Uncle Paul was there too but somehow he always escapes the pictures!

Girls on the GO - Haley's Eighth Birthday!

I can't believe it , eight blessed years with our baby girl, Haley Brooke Julius!!! She celebrated her life with family and friends. She started out the day with a new outfit because she is a girl who loves new clothes. She wanted High School Musical shorts. Then we were off to the skate station. There was skating, rock climbing, the arcade, and the jungle gym. That's right, these girls like action, all about the thrill, watch out world!!! They ate pizza and opened presents in the private party room. It was tons of fun all day long!

4th Grade Mother's Day Tea

What a touching show it was! The kids read the story, "I'll Love You Forever." The moms were crying of course. They sang songs too. My favorite song was, "Wild Thing, You Make My Heart Sing...!" All the kids put on their sunglasses and sang proudly spreading lots of happy energy instead of sadness. Then we all went back to the class for a special video presentation of this year's class memories and the tea party. The kids served the moms and displayed lots of love with cards, coupons, writings, etc. What a wonderful memory this will always be!

Haley's Second Grade Show "Outta Here"

She was a beautiful surfer in her second grade play. What a magnificent performance it was!

Haley made these flip flops to wear at her play.
